2023 HKDSE Results to be Released in July
Following the completion of examinations of all subjects of the 2023 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE), the results are scheduled for release on 19 July 2023.
This year around 50,000 candidates sat the HKDSE. Over 550 halls and around 580 classrooms were set up for the written examinations, while 840 special centres were arranged for candidates with special educational needs (SEN).
The HKDSE is an important credential for candidates to further their studies or to embark on a career. Given the importance of the HKDSE to candidates, we continued to implement a series of precautionary and contingency measures at examination centres to safeguard the health and well-being of candidates and examination personnel this year. We also set up the Designated Exam Centre for candidates infected with COVID-19 in San Po Kong, serving around 500 candidates, over ten times the number from last year. Once again, the smooth conduct of the examination would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of all participating schools, examination personnel, candidates, the Education Bureau (EDB) and relevant government departments.
Meanwhile, around 4,300 markers and 450 marking assistants were appointed to mark about 670,000 answer scripts this year.
Read the blog articles on DSE Express to learn more about how different parties have worked together to support the HKDSE candidates and the invigilation experience of the examination personnel who worked at the Designated Exam Centre to support our candidates. |
2023 Stakeholders’ Forum
On 24 June 2023, around 20 representatives from school councils, professional bodies of the education sector, parent-teacher associations and special educational needs students’ concern groups joined the annual Stakeholders’ Forum. Convened by Mr Samuel Yung Wing-ki, the HKEAA Chairman; Prof Wei Xiang-dong, the Secretary General and the Directors of the HKEAA, the Forum aimed to enhance communication and engagement with stakeholders.
During the Forum, we shared the latest development of the HKEAA and exchanged views with participants on the assessment and administrative arrangements for the HKDSE, as well as the development of other examination and assessment services. The participants also expressed recognition for HKEAA’s efforts in offering quality examination and assessment services. As part of the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the HKEAA, a memento exhibition was arranged for the participants during the Forum, showcasing selected public examination-related items, such as publications, admission forms, results notices, certificates, and archive photos.
